THE owner of a new takeaway business is celebrating after a bumper opening weekend.

Jason Moore, 18, set up Turbo Takeaway to offer people in Colchester and Clacton deliveries of fast food and anything else they are unable to pop out to pick up.

A trial was launched at the weekend promising deliveries, from McDonalds and KFC to the doorstep, services the franchises currently do not offer.

Three drivers were used and more than 40 orders were taken.

The former Clacton Coastal Academy pupil, who now lives in the Hythe, Colchester, said: “It is awesome to think such a simple idea has created something everyone wants.

“There was such demand for it.

“The business is growing really quickly now.”

Jason has taken on feedback from his launch weekend and made a number of alterations to the business.

He has dropped the delivery cost to £3.75 and has decided he will open in the evenings Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday. The new hours will begin on Friday.

Since the weekend, he has signed with Wimpey and is looking for local shops to get involved for grocery deliveries.

Jason is now recruiting more drivers to enable the business to take more orders.

Many of the requests were for alcohol and cigarettes.

These require a licence which is being applied for.
