NOMINATIONS are flooding in for the first Gazette Education Awards.

And there is still time to put forward top teachers, pupils and organisations in one of our 19 categories.

We are running the awards to find the unsung heroes of the classroom, and will be hosting a black-tie ceremony at Weston Homes Community Stadium, on November 6.

The categories include school personality of the year, outstanding new teacher, learner of the year and early years award.

You can also nominate groups which work to get children active in the Fit for Life category.

Our panel of judges, made up of Lucy Murray, head of outreach at Essex University, Ken Jenkinson, headteacher of Colchester Royal Grammar School, Nardeep Sharma, headteacher of Colne Community School, in Brightlingsea, and Gazette editor James Wills, will choose the winners.

It is completely free to nominate and the deadline is Friday, July 24. click here to make your nomination.
