COLCHESTER singer songwriter Johnno Casson returns with another of his Warm and Toasty Clubs this weekend.

Starting off as a cross between John Peel’s Home Truths and an episode of Chris Evan’s TFI Friday, the pilot took place last year at the Colchester Arts Centre.

Now the project has moved on with Johnno working with the likes of Colchester Recalled Oral History Group and Essex County Council’s Sound Archive to develop the show into history project mixed with a celebration of local culture, as well as showcasing some of the most exciting music talent in the country.

For this next show that will be singer-songwriter Alex Highton and Colchester’s Anna Pancaldi.

Also appearing will be Firstsite’s new director, Anthony Roberts.

“Yeah I got him before he became famous,”

Johnno smiles. “He’s been incredibly supportive of the Warm and Toasty Club and I’m very lucky to have him along.”

The Warm and Toasty Club is at Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, Colchester, on Sunday.

Doors open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start. Tickets, at £5, are available in advance from 01206 500900.
