ESSEX Wildlife Trust is asking people to enjoy this summer by doing something wild and we've put together a list of ten suggestions to get outdoors this half term.

The Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild challenge asks people to do something wild every day for a month in June then share it using #30DaysWild.

But why wait til then? Here's a list of some suggestions for getting outdoors and enjoying nature this half term.

1. Workout by volunteering in the wild at an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve. You can see what volunteering opportunities are available here.

2. Photograph your favourite wild place every day for a month. Essex has several nature reserves, to find your closest one click here

3. Submit a wildlife sighting on the new Essex records website.

4. Paddle in the sea at one of Essex Wildlife Trust's beaches. Like Gunners Park and Shoebury Ranges reserve in Shoebury.

5. Create a wild work of art out of dried leaves, pine cones and twigs and leave it for someone to find. You can visit Fingringhoe Wick to get some supplies.

6. Record birds singing and other wild sounds in your garden to make a wild ringtone.

7. Mix a cocktail, leafy salad or fresh brew using a wild ingredient, like elderflower.

8. Learn how to be a survivor with a Bushcraft skills workshop at Langdon Nature Reserve.

9. Look up to watch birds overhead, not down at your phone. Join in with a Bird morning this Friday.

10. Find your favourite tree in one of Essex's ancient woodlands.
