FOOTBALL fanatic James Sakal has travelled across the country to see a match in every round of the FA Cup to raise money for charity.

Now he needs your help to get a ticket to the final.

The musician, maths student and Colchester United fan has been on the FA Cup trail since the qualifying rounds in August.

He started at Haverhill Rovers and followed the winning team from each match on to the next round.

But his challenge is in jeopardy at the final stage of his journey because he has not been able to get a ticket for the final between Arsenal and Aston Villa.

He has one last chance of getting through the gates – by winning a video competition run by Wembley.

James, 31, of Coggehsall Road, Marks Tey, said: “It’s been quite an adventure.

“I’ve seen so many different places.

“It has been quite challenging.

There were points I’ve questioned whether it’s worth it.

“After all the effort, the trials and tribulations I’ve been through to get this far in the trail, it would be the icing on the cake to complete it.

“It would be a dream come true.”

Wembley set up a social media competition asking people to create a short video recreating a historical moment at the ground.

James recorded himself recreating the moment daredevil Evel Knievel jumped across 13 London Buses in 1975.

The video, which shows him jumping over model buses on his bike, has been shortlisted for the final three in the competition.

James, who is a keen photographer, will have the chance to take photos of the game and crowds if he wins.

The trail challenge is in aid of the MS Society, which supported James’s uncle Richard before he died from the disease a few years ago.

He put his student railcard to good use and has travelled to all the games by public transport, spending about £900 on tickets, transport and accommodation.

He has been to 14 matches, including a midweek game at Bradford City.

He said: “It has been phenomenal.

“The camaraderie and generosity of the fans has been absolutely amazing.

“People have donated tickets.

It’s been a heart-warming experiencing.”
