A MUM-OF-TWO died in a crash after her partner lost control of his sports car while taking a tight bend.
Stacy Clague was in the passenger seat of Nigel Kelsall’s silver BMW 3 Series convertible when he lost control going round a bend in Vinesse Road, in Little Horkesley on May 20 last year.
Miss Clague, 34, from Bures, was not wearing a seatbelt and died from severe head injuries when the car smashed into a maple tree.
Chelmsford Crown Court heard today although lorry driver Kelsall – who had been in a relationship with Miss Clague for some months - was not speeding on the 60mph road, he was going “too fast to prevent an incident”.
Kelsall, 40, of in Harwich Road, in Colchester, pleaded guilty to causing Miss Clague's death by careless driving.
He was sentenced today to nine months in prison, suspended for one year.
