EVER fancied jamming at 10,000ft? Now could be your chance.

Andy Fiore, 59, will be playing his guitar on a small plane as it climbs into the clouds before skydiving back to the ground.

He is looking for other musicians to join him for the challenge, which he’s called the Captn’s Nuts SkyJam 2015.

Andy, of Park Road, Wivenhoe, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010 and is organising the jump to raise cash for MS-UK.

His inspiration came after watching Queen rocker Brian May perform on the roof of Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert in 2002.

Andy said: “I thought what can I do that’s better than that?

“Every few years I try and put on a big event to promote jam sessions.

“Last year, my sister died and one of her last wishes was everybody should do something they’ve always wanted to do.

“All these things came together and here I am.”

Andy’s sister, Carolyn Rowe, was only 62, and died after a horse riding accident while on holiday in New Zealand. She had lived inWales.

Andy already has one person signed up to join him on the plane, saxophone player Greg Camburn.

The fundraiser will take place at an airfield in Peterborough on August 1.

Andy and Greg plan to play blues music during the flight and also hope to have time for a few tunes before they take off.

The whole thing will be recorded on camera.

Andy’s MS has a huge impact on his life, and he suffers from fatigue and cognitive difficulties.

He used to work as a software engineer, but is now unable to work.

Andy had a relapse last year, which means he is also unable to play his guitar.

He uses the MS-UK’s gym facilities at the Hythe, Colchester, and hopes to raise £400 for the charity with his unusual fundraiser.
