A SUPPER club run exclusively by homeless people is set to return to Colchester.

Beacon House Supper Club, which is run entirely by homeless men and women, will return to Slack Space, in Queen Street.

People helped by Beacon House, a charity based on East Hill, will cook and serve vegan food to diners for one night only.

It comes after a successful event in December, which was held in the Waiting Room, at the town’s former bus station.

Vivienne Wiggins, Beacon House’s centre manager, said: “We would love to have you over for supper.

“Homeless people are often dismissed, but people who do this ignore a large amount of potential and talent. Those who use Beacon House include talented chefs.

“The Beacon House Supper Club provides the opportunity for those who use Beacon House to show what they can do, and for the diners to take the opportunity to recognise the unique value of those who are homeless.”

The event will be held between 6pm and 10pm on Thursday, May 14.

The chefs will be helped by vegan cook Byron Higgins from #VCatering.

DJ Dave Goddard will provide the music to the evening.

Booking is essential, and diners are urged to call 01787 223850 or email dale@redpeppermarketing.
