ENTREPRENEURIAL youngsters started their own mini-businesses during a money week at school.
Lexden Primary School, in Colchester, holds the annual event to teach pupils skills, including budgeting and fundraising.
Each class was given £20 and had to make products to try to multiply their money.
Scarlett Puttick’s Year 2 class raised £139.80 by hiding a golden ticket inside chocolate boxes, which could be exchanged for a home-made Easter egg.
She said: “The week has been a huge success and the children really enjoyed it, as well as the teacher.
“It is quite fun for all of us and at the market there was all sorts of things like coasters made out of beads, salt dough letters so people could write out word, biscuits, cakes and other items.”
