Colchester's town centre market could be extended to a fourth day if it is a success, council bosses say.
The market, currently split across Culver Street West and Culver Street East, is to return to the High Street next year and will be held weekly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Plans are also in place for a Sunday market in the High Street once every two months, but the town’s tourism chief hopes to expand the project.
Karen Turnbull, Colchester Council enterprise and tourism development manager, said: “There is an ambition to bring more and different types of market to Colchester.
“This would include Sunday markets twice a month and quarterly evening markets.
“Depending on the success of the markets, there could be an extension to one other day in the week."
