A paramedic who insulted a colleague and “stole” his mobile phone has been allowed to carry on working.

Lee Barham, from Colchester, also failed to tell the Thames Ambulance Service the unqualified workmate had administered morphine to a patient.

Mr Barham also swore at him and called him pompous, egotistical and jumped up.

The Health and Care Professions Council ruled Mr Barham’s conduct fell seriously below the standards expected of a registered paramedic.

However, it allowed him to continue working because of the context of the fractious realtionship between Mr Barham and his colleague.
