HUNDREDS of motorists were pulled over by police at accident hotspots in Colchester today.
Police seized cars from motorists found to be driving without licences, tax or insurance as part of a road safety crackdown.
Confiscated cars were lined up at sites, including Wicks car park on Clarendon Way and outside Leisure World off Cowdray Avenue, with no insurance poster sized tickets slapped on them.
The town was chosen because of a rising number of crashes where people were injured where motorists were driving dangerously or even ilegally.
Dozens of officers were based at three spots around the town, with police motorcyclists flagging motorists down for checks.
These included areas around North Station, Cowdray Avenue and Ipswich Road.
