A PROHIBITION notice has been issued on a site where hundreds of tonnes of wood have been dumped.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service fears the wood, in Hawkins Road, Colchester, is going to be set alight and cause a dangerous blaze.
Firefighters have spent two weeks tackling a similar fire in Mountnessing, after 5,000 tonnes of wood were set alight. They still have two engines at the scene 24-hours a day.
It has prompted the fire service to serve a prohibition notice preventing any more wood being dumped.
The Environment Agency has also revoked permission to store material at the site.
