A VILLAGE pub will host a family fun day to celebrate its first anniversary.
The Shepherd, in Moor Road, Langham, was re-opened last September by Esther and Richard Brunning.
Since then they have introduced a monthly quiz night, village lunches, a live music evening and barbecues.
Mrs Brunning said: “It has been amazing to watch the locals and people that have known the pub in the past to come back to it.
“What Richard and I enjoy the most is the community aspect of it, getting to know the locals, creating a place where people can come on their own or with a big group.”
The pub was formerly called the Shepherd and Dog but closed in early 2013 before it underwent its £100,000 revamp.
The anniversary event will take place on September 7 and will include music from Colchester band Soul’d Out, a barbecue, children’s bouncy castle and the kitchen and bar will be open all day.
