RESIDENTS will be given the chance to quiz the county's top cops in Colchester.

The Essex Police Challenge is coming to the town on September 11.

The event, devised and hosted by Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston, will be held at Colchester Sixth Form, North Hill from 7.30pm.

Topics will include an update on force performance and crime trends in Colchester.

Also details on what cuts to Essex Police will mean to the county as a whole and Colchester in particular.

Those who attend will be given the latest information police are able to release following the murders of Jim Attfield and Nahid Al-Manea in Colchester on March 29 and June 17 respectively before a question and answer session.
