A WOMAN who tried to claim damages after her car hit a huge pothole was sent pictures of cones placed around the crater after her accident.
Lucy Woodrow had to spend £100 replacing two tyres on her Ford Ka after driving through the pothole in Brightlingsea Road, Thorrington.
A police officer noticed the hole after the crash and placed cones around it, and Essex County Council carried out repairs later that day.
Mrs Woodrow, 31, of Highwoods, Colchester, filed a claim for compensation with the county council.
Despite sending pictures of the damage and the pothole, she has been told her claim was unsuccessful.
The rejection included a picture of the offending hole surrounded by cones...which had been placed there by the police officer after her crash.
