A BIKE which a resistance fighter used when he blew up Nazi depots and railway lines in Denmark is to be sold to raise money for charity.

Pernille Petersen, who lives off Maldon Road, in Colchester, inherited the bike from her mother, Karin, who lived in Denmark.

During the Second World War, Karin was in America and her uncle, Viggo Friedrichsen, borrowed the bike to travel around the country blowing up depots and railways.

Ms Petersen has now decided to auction it in aid of the Haven Project, a charity which helps people with personality disorders in north Essex.

Anyone who would like to place a bid should call Ms Petersen on 07742 176175.
