LIFEBOAT crews rescued a yachtsman who was unsure of his position due to adverse weather conditions.
Harwich RNLI’s all weather lifeboat was called to the 25ft yacht Jenny with one person onboard after a Mayday call was received by the Thames Coastguard on Saturday at 1.55am,.
The man was requesting assistance but unsure of his position while on passage from Ramsgate to Felixstowe.
A Mayday Relay broadcast was made and with the help of vessels in the area his position was established as 13 nautical miles east of Felixstowe.
The lifeboat towed the yacht to Harwich Harbour.
