A man, woman and young girl have been taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in overturned outside a Bradwell pub.
The ambulance service was alerted to a crash between a grey Citroen C1 and a blue Vauxhall Zafira in Coggeshall Road, Bradwell just after 1pm today.
Two ambulances, a duty officer, the hazardous area response team (HART) and police officers attended the scene near The Dolphin pub.
An spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “On arrival, emergency crews found a woman trapped inside the vehicle and she required to be removed on a spinal board as a precautionary measure, her injuries are non-life threatening.
"The man in the car received minor injuries. The second car involved had three occupants and a female child sustained slight injuries.”
Two fire engines from Braintree were also called to the scene to help release the woman from the grey Citroen.
Firefighters used two sets of cutting equipment to free her by 1.52pm.
The road, which had been blocked in both directions, was fully re-opened by 3.11pm.
All three people were conveyed to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.
