CONSERVATIVES have selected their candidate to stand for South Suffolk in the next general election.
James Cartlidge, from Assington, was chosen from a shortlist of three last night.
The constituency party voted against reselecting sitting MP Tim Yeo earlier this year.
His constituency includes East Bergholt and Brantham.
Speaking after last night's result, Mr Cartlidge said: "I am extremely honoured to have been selected as parliamentary candidate for South Suffolk.
"I will work hard campaigning across the constituency area and will take account of everyone views."
