FORMER firefighter Lyndon de Negri’s devastated family said their goodbyes after doctors told them he would not survive a motorbike crash.

His life support machine was then turned off.

But then, miraculously, Lyndon began breathing again and so began a remarkable recovery which is still continuing 11 years on.

Not wanting to live off benefits for the rest of his life, the former Royal Marine has now started a three-month placement at Colchester Leisure World, and hopes to become a fitness instructor for the disabled.
