Motorcyclist accused of drink driving

A MOTORCYCLIST has been charged with drink driving after he crashed his bike.

David Chappell, 33, of William Groom Avenue, Dovercourt, was riding a Honda CBR along Mill Lane, Bradfield, when it struck a fence.

Chappell was taken to Colchester General Hospital by paramedics where he had treatment for facial injuries.

He was arrested and later charged with one count of driving while under the influence of alcohol and one count of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Chappell is due appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on Monday, July 14.
