Autumn-born children are better at sports, Essex University research finds

Essex County Standard: Autumn-born children are better at sports, Essex University research finds Autumn-born children are better at sports, Essex University research finds

CHILDREN are fitter and stronger if they are born in the autumn, Essex University research has found.

Research leader Dr Gavin Sandercock said a boy born in November would run at least 10 per cent faster, jump 12 per cent higher and is 15 per cent more powerful than a child of the same age born in April.

The research, published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine, suggested higher Vitamin D levels from exposure to sunlight late on in pregnancy could be the cause.

this is absolute psudo-science .... it would be impossible to even test this accurately without pregnant mothers all willing to experiment on children ... which is illegal ... all mothers would have to be the same physical fitness with no family history of illness or malnutrition with the same quality level D.N.A. , all children would have to be given exactly the same nutritional input up to the age of twelve, exposed to the same environmental conditions and be taught at the same level, then have no contact with anyone or anything that could cause any of the data to be corrupted .... this is impossible to test as the children would suffer severe psychological damage in the process ..... WHY DO YOU EVEN POST STORIES LIKE THIS WITHOUT DOING RESEARCH FIRST

This is the same University which, after months of painstaking research, discovered that the reason Usain Bolt can run so fast is that he has exceptionally long legs.

Best tell the NHS to recruit temporary midwives in the autumn then! The money spent on this research could have been spent on something really important & useful.
