This happened nearly a month ago and should have been reported then rather than playing on people's anxieties now in light of recent tragic events. Having said that I hope that this person - and the persons responsible for the cowardly and horrific murders are brought to justice asap. Is there not any CCTV footage with the high street robbery?

Sorry to say this is becoming a problem of modern society and can happen anywhere at anytime.

You would do well to find a crime free area

So that is ok then? Well it's not. This is not about airy fairy liberal attitudes of let sleeping dogs lie. It is a disgrace in Colchester and as you correctly point out elsewhere in this septic country.

It is sad to read of all these crimes (not just in Colchester) all over the UK. It is as though our system of Law and Order has become so weak that these perpetrators of crime are now striking at all times of the day and night.

We hear and read comments decrying the police for their in action. We should stop and think, just for a moment. Our police do a fine job overall. They fight crime with one hand tied behind their backs.

Our system of law and order has become so weak due to the rules imposed by our so-called do gooders. The majority, keep quiet when laws are made, out lawing this and that. Look back just a few years, say around forty.

Teenager, around that era, were rebellious, but respected the police, elderly, and most of all themselves. Yes, there were gangs and street brawls, involving two rival groups. Muggings, taking advantage of vulnerable was alien to them. Mainly, it was one onto one, and the first with the bloody nose was usually term the loser. Kicking someone when they were down would never have been accepted by the mates of those who had been scrapping.

These teenager, knew all the foul words, however, they would respect all other in their presence. These teenagers had been subjected to discipline from their parents, then during their schooling. We ourselves have allowed minority groups to rule. First, it was corporal punishment, then telling parent it was against the law to smack their off springs.

Then it was the race card, and colour prejudice, which told us it, was wrong to use the word “Black Board” it had to be “Chalk Board” If a teenager, used unbecoming language that offended people, their parents would wash out their mouths with soap. That is now considered an assault.

So let us all take some blame in allowing thing to change without any forceful objections and opposition.

One word DRUGS
the cops wont get rid of the drugs scourge in the town......WHY?
dangerous strains of cannabis being grown with THC levels higher than 15%
mixed with cocaine crystals some variants are known as napolese black.
someone somewhere has got the measure of how to get this stuff floating around without their collars being felt.
they know something or have something on someone, they are immune to investigation.
all the crimes and psychotic attacks are linked to drugs.

TheIdesOfMarch,

Your comment make one think you know something. Which you are keeping under wraps, why?
You claim that the majority, if not all these attacks are drug related. None prescription Drugs have been in use in the United Kingdom before the reign of Queen Victoria. We have read about drugs being used during the Victorian era purely for recreational use by our so-called upper class of the day. You refer to the police quote; “the cops won’t get rid of the drugs scourge in the town...WHY?”

If you know something and are reluctant to part with the information to the authorities, you are an accessory after the fact. Withholding evidence is a crime in its own right, and those who do withhold it are equally as guilty as the supplier is.

Surely the main problem is that even when the police catch the criminals( and that is what they are) the judiciary just put them back on the street. There is no promise of protecting the public only of not upsetting the criminals, and risking a telling off and/or expensive EU 'Human Rights' farce.

How right you are. Unfortunately, we are the ones to blame for that. We sit back and let those who shout and when they are listen to We do Sweet Fanny Adams about it.

Write to your Members of Parliament. Tell them how you feel about these atrocious crimes, and the culprit only get a slapped hand. Whoop's sorry, that is now assault. I should have said> "unfitting Sentence"

I think the media are just capitalising on recent events and scare mongering, if it wasn't for the recent murders, these types of incidents probably wouldn't even get a mention.
