COLCHESTER’S market is to return to the High Street for the first time in a generation.
Town hall bosses have unveiled plans to move the 36 market stalls from Culver Street West and East to a 200 metre stretch of the High Street from next spring.
Karen Turnbull, Colchester Council’s enterprise and tourism development manager, said the aim was to recreate a proper market and bring more shoppers into the town centre.
