I was told I had 9 months to live... but benefits took 10 months to sort out

A DAD-OF-FOUR was forced to wait ten months for disability benefits after he was diagnosed with life-threatening cancer.

Martin Harris, 57, was diagnosed with tongue cancer in April last year and was told he had six to nine months to live.

A month later he underwent a 12-hour operation, usually considered too risky, to remove his tongue, vocal chords and part of his neck.

He has been left breathing through a hole in his neck, being fed by a tube into his stomach and using a machine to speak.

During his recovery, he was forced to give up his job in the insurance sector.

typical of the grey suits in the public sector.
the tip of the iceberg that gets worse by the day
whitewash over pebble dash mentality, yes men/women held to ransom by their gold plated pensions.
in the end we all suffer for it.

I'm afraid this not an unusual situation. My own mother has been seriously ill for four months and nearly died in March - a Nursing Needs Assessment (which would have allowed my mother to receive the nursing care she needed free of charge) was requested in March but was never completed due to 'administration errors'. It was only when my mother moved to St Helena Hospice this month that the assessment was completed and funding immediately granted. Our thanks to St Helena Hospice but it's all too late - why should someone who is so unwell have to go through such an inadequate process and be subjected to such humiliation during the final months of life?

basically if you peg it your relatives get the dough, after you are up with the gods.
as if they give a f**k most of the call centers and handling departments are in the north, its about time they had dedicated call centers in the south ie south of f*cki*g watford so that they can sympathize with us a little and speak our lingo.
basically they are all a load of sh*t the worst bunch are the dwp carers allowance dept. evil so and so's like the stromont fuhrer DSS used to be 30 years ago.
and by the way when you are dead and gone you get a George Osborne in the post within 14 days and you have to pay up within 14 days. leeches, this relationship with the state is a £1 to 10p relationship every £ you give them you get 10p back in services or benefits.

Utter drivel, your inability to understand English spoken with a northen accent is probably due to the fact you are a total simpleton you come across as the type of person who would find using a zip a challenge. Feel free to come back and post more of your half baked made up nonsense.
