A horse rider suffered a badly broken leg after a fall this morning.
The woman, believed to be aged 20, fell from a horse in Ardleigh at about 10.20am.
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) attended the scene, along with the Essex Air Ambulance.
An EEAST spokesman said: "The woman sustained a badly broken leg.
"The ambulance crew assessed the casualty and because of the nature of her injury, requested the critical care team.
"She received advanced medication at the scene and was then taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment."
