A MAN attempted to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl as she walked past a pub in East Bergholt.
The incident happened near Chaplin Road at 5pm on Tuesday when the man tried to speak to the girl.
He was resting up against a fence at the road junction near the Hare and Hounds pub.
When the girl ignored him and continued to walk on he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into some nearby bushes.
He then exposed himself and made sexual comments before trying to force himself on the girl, who managed to get away.
The incident was reported to Suffolk Police later that evening and specially trained officers have been working with the victim to establish a clear picture of what has occurred.
The man is described as a white man, aged in his twenties, with blonde short spiked hair, had dark coloured eyebrows and stubble.
He was wearing skinny-fit light blue jeans and a grey hooded top.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognises the man described to call Bury Gemini Team on 101 , quoting crime reference HD/14/647 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
