THE first protest against the big light switch-off will see concerned residents hold a torch vigil across Harwich.
Campaigners angry at the cost-cutting scheme will stand under switched off street-lights shortly after midnight on Saturday June 7 while holding a torch for 30 minutes.
Wayne Tearle of Una Road, Parkeston has organised the static torch protest in Harwich.
He said: “In Harwich and Clacton we have had councillors fighting to try and get them to listen to our concerns with the light switch off."
