Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a road crash in north Essex which claimed the life of a woman.

The collision happened in Little Horkesley when the driver of a silver BMW 325 convertible appears to have lost control of the car while travelling along Vinesse Road and struck a tree stump at 5pm on Tuesday. 

The passenger, Stacy Clague, was taken to Colchester General Hospital but the 34-year-old from Bures died there on Wednesday.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, from the Colchester area, is currently on police bail until Monday, July 21 after being arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
