Essex Anti-Fascists have accused the English Defence League of exploiting a soldier’s murder for political gain ahead of a march in Colchester.
The EDL will lay a wreath at the war memorial outside Upper Castle Park on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of Lee Rigby’s murder in London.
Members of the Essex Anti-Fascists are planning to attend to voice their opposition to the group.
On June 1 last year about 60 EDL members clashed with 150 protesters near the war memorial.
