TEN jobs will be lost in Colchester when a home furnishings store closes after a buyer could not be found for a national chain.
Administrators Deloitte had hoped to find a buyer for Paul Simon’s remaining 22 stores across the country, which includes the shop, in Peartree Road, Stanway.
The shop will be closed inside the next three weeks.
Lee Manning, lead administrator at Deloitte, said: “We very much regret that a buyer for the remaining stores as a going concern could not be found.
“We will close stores over the coming weeks, selling the remaining unsold stock in these stores in clearance sales.
“The business cannot trade indefinitely without the prospect of a buyer.
“The sector in which Paul Simon operates remains a challenging market.”
Some 209 jobs will be lost across the country as a result.
Earlier this month, it was announced shops in Chelmsford, Harlow and Lakeside.
Now shops in Basildon, Ipswich and Norwich will be added to the list of closures, alongside Stanway.
