Boy, nine, assaulted while walking his dog

First published in News

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy has been left shaken and upset after being assaulted while out walking his dog.

The boy was walking along Shrub End Road, Colchester, near the surgery, just after 6.30pm on Friday when an older teenager grabbed him around the waist.

A minor tussle followed, before the boy managed to break free and run home.

Investigating officer Pc Dan Smith said: “This was a strange attack and one for which there appears to be no motive.

“We would like to speak to any passing motorists or pedestrians who saw this interaction take place.”

The teenager is described as white, slim, and with curly brown hair.

Anyone with information should contact the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Colchester Police Station on 101.

Unfortunately it's not a safe place for kids to be out alone. Or anyone for that matter since we have murder/murders on the loose from the sad event in Castle Park. I'm being extra careful not being out alone, locking car doors, keeping phone to hand etc.
I just hope the little boys okay and not too shaken up
