PRIME Minister David Cameron is in Colchester today to launch a Government plan to get unemployed people back to work.

The PM is launching the Help to Work scheme, which will mean job seekers would be required to visit the Job Centre everyday.

They will also be offered employment coaching from Job Centre staff.

He visited the Job Centre, in High Street, before touring The Gazette newsroom, in Brunel Court.

Mr Cameron said: "A key part of our long-term economic plan is to move to full employment, making sure that everyone who can work is in work.

"We are seeing record levels of employment in Britain, as more and more people find a job, but we need to look at those who are persistently stuck on benefits.

"This scheme will provide more help than ever before, getting people into work and on the road to a more secure future."

Government figures show there are record number of people in work and long-term unemployment has fallen by 93,000 since last year.
