Flytipping spoiling our community

Essex County Standard: Flytipping spoiling our community Flytipping spoiling our community

"UNACCEPTABLE" flytipping is spoiling towns and villages as irresponsible residents dump everything from sofas and beds to everyday houshold waste.

Residents in Dovercourt and Ramsey have both hit out at continued bouts of discarded rubbish.

In Victoria Street, Dovercourt a former pub car park has become a hotspot for flytipping with a bed, mattress, sofas and shards of wood dumped.

In Ramsey clothing, carboard boxes, wood, black bags and a saucepan have been left at Wash Corner, Wix Road in the village.

Then felt roofing and bags were left at the Ramsey Recreation Field in Wix Road.

Nick Turner, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for environment, encouraged residents to report flytippers by calling 01255 686749.

These people that dump their rubbish in the streets should be ashamed of themselves. More severe punishments are needed

it is happening all over the place, you can never get it to stop.
the council and its health division are too busy doing other works in their remits.
there is the occasional bust or charge but these are rare.
it is all dependent on intelligence and getting info to catch the dumpers.
i suppose if we had a few volunteer WOMBLES who would like to get of their backsides and collect the stuff for us, that may help the problem, instead of some of them wasting their sorry lives writing vitriolic responses on this site.
back to the dumping it is never ending falling plates, as you try to stand up for the problem, the situation comes back worse.
typical of the British and how we have ended up as a nation know one cares anymore.

If you think it's bad now wait and see what happens when the council start charging residents for visiting the dump

Recently we have had a bed& mattress,
empty packing cases& several plastic
bags dumped in our brook.
Must have taken some effort as the fence
is around 4foot high.
What is worse is that the local tip is just
a few hundred yards further up the road.
No logicality to this action just an indication
of rebelling against the rules at the local tip.
