A WOMAN arrested in connection with the murder of Jim Attfield has been bailed again until Thursday.

A 27-year-old woman from Colchester answered bail today at Colchester Police Station.

She has been ordered to return again on Thursday however police declined to reveal what crime she has been arrested on suspicion of.

Officers carried out further searches along the riverside walk near Lower Castle Park this morning.

A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed nothing of significance was found.

Jim Attfield was found with 102 stab wounds.

The cordon, which had been in place since Mr Attfield was found on March 29, had been lifted yesterday.

But the area was sealed off again to allow officers to search the undergrowth.

Divers from the specialist Sussex Police team are also continuing to help in the search for the murder weapon.

Mr Attfield, known to his friends as Jim, was found in Lower Castle Park at 5.45am on March 29.

He died a short time later.

His family and detectives have made numerous appeals for information to help catch his killers.

Crimestoppers has also offered a £5,000 reward in the hope that people will come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Essex Police emergency hotline on 01245 282103.

Alternatively call Colchester police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

See today's Gazette for more on the progress of the investigation.
