CHANGES which mean Colchester householders no longer get free replacement garden waste recycling sacks mean fewer people will take the green option, a senior councillor says.
Tory council opposition leader Will Quince has spoken out over Colchester Council’s decision to charge £3.64 to replace worn-out recycling sacks for garden waste. Until last week, they were free.
Mr Quince claims the charge will put residents off recycling.
He asked: “Does the council even want us to recycle from the garden? This is the sign of a council which doesn’t take recycling as seriously as it should."
