EASTER-THEMED activities took place at schools in Colchester.

Children at Montgomery Infants School and Nursery, in Baronswood Way, Colchester, wore homemade hats and paraded around their playground in an Easter bonnet competition.

Queen Boudica Primary School, in Cowper Crescent, Colchester, held an Easter festival, during which children made cards and had egg and spoon races.

So the government is getting cross with the idea of parents using school time for holidays as every school day is meant to be so important - strikes me that the week before Easter would be an excellent time to go on holidays with your children as the above is merely playtime
