POLICE have launched a murder enquiry after a man’s body was found in a park.
The body of a man believed to be in his 30s and from Colchester was found in Lower Castle Park this morning by a member of the public just before 5.45am.
The victim had serious head injuries and paramedics arrived at the scene to administer emergency lifesaving treatment but he was pronounced dead at about 6.30am.
A police cordon has been established near to Wakefield Close and the park is currently closed.
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate is investigating the death.
