Nan followed 999 worker’s instructions to deliver daughter’s baby girl

A GRAN-TO-BE was helped by a call handler to deliver her baby granddaughter.
Sharon Brand dialled 999 at her Colchester home when daughter Emma Whitten went into labour and couldn’t get to hospital in time.
Ambulance service call handler Claire Watt talked Sharon through the delivery.
Sharon said: “Just minutes into the call my daughter had given birth to my beautiful granddaughter, with a little help from Claire and I.”
