A MOCK road crash will be created outside Queen Boudica Primary School, Colchester, on Thursday as part of a day of action to improve the community.
St John Ambulance volunteers and Colchester Council zone wardens will be involved in the exercise, in Cowper Crescent from 3pm.
Their aim is to reinforce road safety messages to pupils and parents in a very visible way.
The event is part of a Day of Action in Colchester’s Mile End ward, which has been organised by The Safer Colchester Partnership.
Essex Police will be also providing a high visibility presence on the day, undertaking a range of activities and their own operations.
The Mobile Police Office will be located outside Asda in Turner Road from 9.30am to offer advice on crime reduction and business and neighbourhood watch.
Colchester Council’s public engagement unit will be available in Mill Road by Myland Primary School between 10am and 3pm.
It will provide information on recycling, food waste management and home composting, as well as responsible dog ownership, employment and work clubs, home fire safety advice, crime reduction and community safety advice.
The day will also include an extensive clean-up campaign.
