Long-serving lollipop man Cliff fears for children if he's shown the door

A LONG-serving lollipop man says he fears for children’s safety if Essex County Council plans to axe him go ahead.
Cliff Bastyan has been manning the busy crossing outside King’s Ford Junior and Infant schools for 13 years.
Last week, he was summoned to a meeting at the Marks Tey Hotel with other crossing wardens, and told he could be redundant from September.
He said: “When I’m not here, I hear some real horror stories from parents, with near misses and drivers just not realising there are children here.
“I really would fear for them.
