A NATIONAL appeal has gone out to track down a man wanted in connection with two serious north Essex assaults.

Shaun Ellis, 20, has disappeared from his address in Sycamore Road, Colchester.

In a rare move, Essex Police has issued a national appeal to locate him.

Ellis is wanted in connection with an attack in Cannon Street, Colchester, on July 11 at 9.30pm last year.

He is suspected of causing grievous bodily harm to a victim, 33, who suffered serious facial injuries and had to be rushed to hospital.

A manhunt was launched from land and air after the attack.

He is also the main suspect after a wounding on September 23, in Cambridge Road, Clacton.

Aman in his twenties was stabbed twice in front of a fish and chip shop and left bleeding in the middle of the street after the attack at 5.30pm.

Ellis was arrested after the attacks, but failed to answer bail.

Ellis is of mixed heritage, 6ft 2ins tall, with cropped black hair, a thin moustache, blue eyes, average build and has an Essex accent.

He is known to frequent the Colchester, Clacton, Basildon, Chelmsford, Southend and Ipswich areas.
