A GOLF shop boss has criticised Colchester Council for threatening to prosecute him after he put a sign on a roundabout.
Nick Tait put up a banner letting customers know they could still use American Golf, in Bakers Lane, Colchester, despite part of the road being closed.
The bridge on the road is being replaced and will be closed for about 20 weeks, with diversion signs in place.
Mr Tait was worried he would lose trade and put up the sign, but was forced to take it down after he was threatened with legal action.
