Filming for a current affairs documentary led to the suspension of seven members of staff at Braintree’s biggest care home, it can be revealed.
Undercover filming by Panorama is understood to have sparked an investigation at The Old Deanery in Bocking.
Members of staff were suspended at the end of February and remain suspended following concerns raised over the treatment of residents, of which 156 live at The Old Deanery and St Mary’s Court.
A spokesman for The Old Deanery said: “We have been informed that Panorama are taking a look at how care homes are run in this country.
“As a result of concerns raised by the programme, seven staff have been suspended under our internal procedures."
