Two teenagers have been arrested after a suspected arson attack on a terraced house.
Firefighters were called to the home in Bronte Road, Witham, at 12.20am yesterday morning.
The house’s only occupant, a 61-year-old man, was able to escape uninjured through a ground floor window.
Two 15-year-old boys, both from Witham, were arrested later on the same day on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
The two suspects have been released on bail until June 27, pending further enquiries.
