A MAN had his eardrum burst during an assault in Colchester.

Police want to speak to the driver of a gold Volvo who they think is a potential witness.

A male victim was punched close to some temporary road works.

The assault took place outside The Willows shops, in Mersea Road, at about 5.30pm on January 27.

Police have only just released details of the incident.

An Ipswich man, 22, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on police bail until March 31 while enquires continue.

  • Any witnesses should call PC Roxanne Wicks on 101.
