Woman takes scalpel to her arm to remove tattoo dedicated to ex-boyfriend

Essex County Standard: Woman takes scalpel to her arm to remove tattoo dedicated to ex-boyfriend Woman takes scalpel to her arm to remove tattoo dedicated to ex-boyfriend

WHEN Torz Reynolds’ boyfriend told her he couldn’t turn down his dream job in Alaska, she believed him and even sobbed as he boarded the plane.

But when she later found out the job allegedly did not exist and he had moved in with a woman he’d had a six-month affair with, her outlook changed.

So, to get her revenge, the 26-year-old former Gilberd school girl took a scalpel to her right arm and removed her tattoo, which she had inked as a surprise for her long-term boyfriend, saying: “Chopper’s bitch.”

The body piercer and modification artist enlisted the help of a friend and took a scalpel to the tattoo and used tweezers to peel back her skin.

Shocking that this is given as news. It makes it sound like hers were the reasonable actions of a sane woman. She is a disgrace and this method of removing tattoos actually sounds like a normal thing one might do in the circumstances. No wonder Chopper moved on from this mad cow.

'Dream Job in Alaska'? Really? Surely any sentient being would have been able to translate the 'I can't wait to get away from you' within that declaration?

I'm sure the guy feels properly revenged upon... she showed him. She hurt herself to hurt him. Just a shame he clearly didn't care.

Matron... another one for the medication....

I always think it is worrying when someone self harms in this manner, every time she looks at her arm she will be reminded of the ex boyfriend and this will be with her for the rest of her life. The worrying part is if she would do this to herself over something so trival as a break up with a boy friend what would she do in a real crisis in her life, I think a trip to a shrink is in need. Also if she had the tattoo proffessionally removed it would have been better advertising in her line of work

'body piercer and modification artist' is what it states. One assumes she gets paid for it and is doing it 'for a living'. Why do you wonder? Not 'benefits bashing' are you Jess?

I assure you, if someone gets a tattoo saying 'Choppers ****', is surprised that person has little respect for them, decides a revenge angle is to disfigure themselves by sending a severed tattoo through the post to the aforementioned 'Chopper', and then proudly displays the mutilation to the local rag ... then yeah, the facts are there to quickly judge.

Either she needs care (in which case I guess more sympathy should be afforded and her troubles not splashed over the papers), or she is an idiot.

As far as your previous statement regarding removing skin. having looked into this, it is clear why it is little heard of. It is a barbaric process that no right-minded person would undertake- mainly reserved for mentalists that want to send the 'now' unwanted part of skin to unrequited lovers.....

It's her body and frankly she can do what she likes to it! Not really sure why so many people are getting so worked up about this. Your kids are not going to see this and think: Ooh, I 'll go and get a tattoo and then peel it off. Or perhaps they will. But they would probably have done so anyway in the end. As somebody who's never even thought about having a tattoo, let alone a split tongue or a self-scalping, it's definitely not something I would ever want to do - but she is a grown woman and perfectly able to decide for herself if the pain it causes is worth it.

This story has gone truly global, reported in Chile, Australia, Brazil, South Africa. It clearly resonates with some people in these places, because she has had loads of messages which are mostly supportive of her right to do as she wants with her body. Just because it's not for you doesn't mean it is wrong!

''Just because it's not for you doesn't mean it is wrong!''
You are right, what she did was totally rational and reasonable....errrr.
.. or not.

Of course it is her body, and she doesn't appear to have hurt (physically) anyone other than herself, and I don't think people have got worked up, any more than is needed to offer opinions on here.... which tend to amount to her being a special fried rice short of a set meal for 1.
