FIREFIGHTERS have been called to rescue a dog which is stuck in the mud at the Hythe.
It appears the brown labrador fell 30 feet into the river and became trapped in mud on the bank.
The animal’s owner had been preparing to go into the river to free the trapped dog before fire crews arrived.
The incident was dealt with by 11:53am.
Crews used lines and water rescue equipment to free the animal. The dog was left in the care of its owner.
