A television presenter and blockbuster actor has shown his support for the Mayflower Project on social media.
National treasure Stephen Fry tweeted about the project.
He highlighted the plans to build the replica pilgrim ship and included a link to the new fundraising website, Crowdfunder.
Last week, the project launched a wishlist page hoping to raise £30,000 for a new horizontal saw.
Bidders can buy anything from T-shirts to a space on the ship’s maiden voyage, with costs ranging from £5 to £1million.
Sean Day, a volunteer at the Mayflower Project, said: “We hope Stephen’s tweet will raise the profile of the fundraising and encourage more people to donate.”
